Care for Metal: Oxidation is a natural process that may produce tarnish or discoloration. To reduce the effects of oxidation, we suggest limiting contact of your belt buckle or guitar strap buckle with sea water, pool water, perfume and household cleaning products. To remove tarnish, we recommend Cape Cod Polishing Cloths for Fine Metals. These cloths are easy to use and come pre-treated in a re-sealable bag. Please do not use metal polish on leather or harsh metal cleaners, such as Brasso on Sterling Silver.


Care for Alligator and Cowhide: Leather is a living material.  Over time, it may change in color, soften and develop a patina. With a minimum amount of care, it will provide many years of use and enjoyment. Your Alligator or Cowhide leather is tanned to the highest standards. In order maintain its extraordinary quality, we recommend that you protect it from humidity, extreme heat and prolonged exposure to light.  In extreme climates or use over time, leather conditioning may help sustain the beauty of your product. We like Chamberlain’s Leather Milk.


Care for The Laurence Kenyon Suitcase in Leather: With a minimum amount of care, you can maintain the exceptional beauty of your suitcase for many years. The trim and body of your suitcase are made from the finest leather. Leather is a living material that evolves over time. It may change in color, soften and develop a patina. To minimize the effects of the environment, please try to protect it from humidity, extreme heat and prolonged exposure to light.  We recommend that you never immerse your suitcase in water and that it have very limited contact with sea water, pool water, perfume and household cleaning products.

The leather body of your suitcase has been treated to resist stains and soiling. Wiping it with a damp, not soaking, soft cloth will clean the body. The leather trim may be wiped with a soft damp cloth.

In extreme climates or exceptional use leather conditioning will help maintain the beauty of your product, especially the trim.  We like Chamberlain’s Leather Milk. If you prefer, you can send us your suitcase for reconditioning.

Your suitcase has been wear tested as checked baggage. In general, your suitcase will withstand normal airline handling.  However, we recommend that you use our Canvas Airline Cover if you plan on checking your bag or any other unusual handling conditions. This will help protect the suitcase and maintain its original appearance.

Your suitcase has been wear tested by airline baggage handlers many times. However, in order to maintain its original appearance or if you plan on checking your bag frequently we recommend our heavy-duty Canvas Airline Cover.
